Agogo Arts a Community Interest Company dedicated to using capoeira to strengthen community bonds in London. Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art combining dance, acrobatics, and music, serves as our tool for fostering connection, resilience, and cultural exchange. We offer inclusive classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels, creating a vibrant space where individuals come together to share, learn, and grow. Through our programs and community initiatives, we aim to build a stronger, more united community, celebrating diversity and promoting well-being across London.

Our Latest News

In the last quarter of 2024 we ran a few community projects in Tottenham, the first was our Capoeira Community Connection, which was sponsored by Sport England, and the other was our Bernie Grant Arts Centre Summer Camp.

Lifelong Learning

Capoeira, music and dance enhance physical and mental health, and support community. Agogo Arts organises children’s and adults’ capoeira classes in North London, and provides bespoke training and workshops in other Brazilian arts. 

Cultural Exchange

We have a wide network of international contacts who contribute to our artistic community through visits, online encounters or by hosting collaborators abroad.

Shows and Performances

We provide capoeira and music performances for carnivals, cultural celebrations, team-building work events and commercial settings.

Paulinha

Director and Chair

Paulinha is a capoeirista and musician with twenty years experience of teaching capoeira in the UK. Resident in Tottenham, Paulinha manages events and classes through a network of local contacts, including schools, arts venues and community groups.

Boneco

Logistician

Boneco is a capoeirista, dancer and musician of various styles, with twenty years experience of teaching and performing Brazilian arts in the UK. He heads the logistics team, providing instruments, materials and organisational details.
